Liu Guoquan
Abstract:In this review article, the definition and the scope of stereology have been introduced first, then the usefulness of stereology has been demonstrated using examples. Whether in its narrow or its broad definition, stereology is essentially an interdisciplinary branch of science about 2D and 3D structures and images. Here the readers are also led to some important reference books and scientific journals to stereology and related fields. It is hoped that the information in this article would be helpful, especially to those interested in interdisciplinary work or applications of stereology.
