Research Progress on the Association between Triglyceride-Glucose Index and Atrial Fibrillation
Abstract:Atrial fibrillation is a common arrhythmia that significantly increases the risk of stroke, heart failure, and death in patients, placing a heavy burden on the healthcare system. The triglyceride-glucose index, as a simple, sensitive, and cost-effective novel surrogate marker of insulin resistance, not only has high accuracy in assessment but is also applicable to specific populations such as those receiving insulin therapy and non-diabetic patients. In recent years, it has shown important value in predicting the risk of atrial fibrillation. This article aims to systematically review the latest progress and potential mechanisms of the association between the triglyceride-glucose index and atrial fibrillation, in order to provide new insights for the precise prevention and treatment of atrial fibrillation.
