Research Progress on the Cross-Regulatory Network and Mechanisms of NF-κB and Nrf2 Signaling Pathways in SA-AKI
Abstract:Sepsis-associated acute kidney injury (SA-AKI) is one of the severe complications of sepsis, characterized by high incidence and mortality. The pathophysiological mechanisms of SA-AKI involve multiple signaling pathways, including inflammatory response, oxidative stress, cell apoptosis, and autophagy. These pathways interact with each other, jointly promoting the occurrence and development of SA-AKI. This article reviews the cross-regulatory network and mechanisms of nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) and nuclear factor E2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) signaling pathways, and discusses the roles of phosphoinositide 3-kinase/protein kinase B, adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase, NACHT domain-containing protein family member 3 inflammasome, transforming growth factor beta/Smad, Janus kinase-signal transducer and activator of transcription pathways, providing new directions for the prevention and treatment of SA-AKI.
