Predictive Value of Novel Inflammatory Indices Combined with Serum Albumin for the Prognosis of Patients with Ascites due to Liver Cirrhosis
Abstract:Objective To explore the predictive value of novel inflammatory indices combined with serum albumin for the prognosis of patients with ascites due to liver cirrhosis. Methods A total of 120 patients with ascites due to liver cirrhosis who were treated at the Central Hospital of Bazhong City from September 2020 to September 2022 were selected. There were 77 males and 43 females, with a mean age of (63.4±12.2) years, ranging from 35 to 75 years. According to their prognosis after 48 hours of hospitalization, they were divided into the good prognosis group (n=80) and poor prognosis group (n=40). Logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the factors affecting poor prognosis in patients with ascites due to liver cirrhosis. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to evaluate the predictive value of each indicator for the prognosis of patients with ascites due to liver cirrhosis. Results Low serum albumin, high systemic immune inflammation index (SII), and high systemic inflammatory response index (SIRI) were independent risk factors for poor prognosis in patients with ascites due to liver cirrhosis (P<0.05). ROC curve analysis showed that the combination of SII, SIRI, and serum albumin had a higher area under the curve, sensitivity, and specificity compared to individual indicators, with statistical significance (P<0.05), indicating a higher predictive value. Conclusion The combination of novel inflammatory indices SII and SIRI with serum albumin has a certain predictive value for the prognosis of patients with ascites due to liver cirrhosis, and can provide reference for clinical practice.
