Study on the Effect of Divergent Shock Wave Therapy After Arthroscopic Surgery for Anterior Cruciate Ligament Intercondylar Ridge Avulsion Fracture
Abstract:Objective To explore the therapeutic effect of divergent shock wave therapy after arthroscopic surgery for anterior cruciate ligament intercondylar ridge avulsion fracture. Methods Seventeen patients with tibial intercondylar ridge avulsion fractures treated with arthroscopic surgery at the General Hospital of the Northern Theater Command from January 2018 to January 2023 were selected. There were 11 males and 6 females, with an average age of (19.12±1.75) years, ranging from 17 to 23 years. Patients were divided into a conventional group (n=8) and an observation group (n=9) based on whether they received divergent shock wave therapy after surgery. The conventional group received conventional rehabilitation treatment, while the observation group received conventional rehabilitation treatment combined with divergent shock wave therapy. Preoperative and postoperative 1-month knee joint three-dimensional CT scans were performed to evaluate and compare the tibial anterior slope angle between the two groups. Pain visual analog scale (VAS) scores, knee function Lysholm scores, and 36-item short form health survey (SF-36) scores were evaluated and compared preoperatively, postoperatively 1 month, and postoperatively 6 months. Follow-up was conducted to observe the prognosis of the patients. Results One month after surgery, the VAS pain score in the observation group was lower than that in the conventional group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). One month and six months after surgery, the Lysholm scores in the observation group were higher than those in the conventional group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). One month after surgery, the physiological function, body pain, general health, and social function scores in the observation group were higher than those in the conventional group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). Six months after surgery, all dimensions of the SF-36 scores in the observation group were higher than those in the conventional group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). All 17 patients were followed up for 8–14 months, and all fractures healed, with satisfactory recovery of knee joint function. Conclusion Divergent shock wave therapy after arthroscopic surgery for anterior cruciate ligament intercondylar ridge avulsion fracture has satisfactory effects, which can alleviate postoperative pain, help early training of lower limb muscle strength, proprioception, and knee joint range of motion, and promote knee joint function recovery and improve quality of life.
