TYMSOS expression characteristics in melanoma

Abstract：Objective To explore the expression characteristics of long non-coding RNA TYMSOS in melanoma and its impact on patient prognosis.Methods The expression of TYMSOS in melanoma cohorts was analyzed,and the effects of TYMSOS on melanoma tumor cell proliferation,migration and invasion were detected by CCK8 and Transwell assays.Results The expression of TYMSOS was significantly higher in melanoma tumour tissues than in normal tissues,and its high expression was associated with significantly lower overall survival and progression-free survival of patients(P＜0.05).Cox regression analysis showed that old,pathological stage Ⅲ and Ⅳ,TYMSOS were poor prognostic factors for melanoma.CCK8 assay showed that cell proliferation was affected by interfering with the expression of TYMSOS.Transwell assay demonstrated that the migration and invasive ability of cells were reduced after interfering with the expression of TYMSOS.Conclusion TYMSOS may play an important role in the development of melanoma and can be used as a new potential biomarker.
