Abstract:Objective Abjective To evaluate the clinical therapeutic efficacy of Nd:YAG laser in the treatment of recurrent herpes la-bialis.Methods This study enrolled 64 patients with recurrent herpes labialis visiting our hospital from June 2017 to June 2021.They were randomly divided into laser group and conventional group,32 cases in each group.Patients in the laser group were treated with Nd:YAG laser, whereas patients in the conventional group were applied with 3%Acyclovir.The time of scab formation, scab removal, pain relief, and healing were compared between the two groups. Moreover, the overall efficacy rate at 7 days of the treatment and recur-rence rate at 2 years after treatment in both groups were compared. Results The time for scabbying, scabs removal, analgesic time and cure time in the laser group were significantly lower than those in the conventional group(P<0.05).The total effective rate of the la-ser group was 96.8%(31/32),which was significantly higher than that of the conventional group[71.9%(23/32)],and the differ-ence was statistically significant(P<0.05).Two years after the treatment, the recurrence rate in the laser group was lower than that in the conventional group significantly(P<0.05).Conclusion Nd:YAG Laser treatment of recurrent herpes labialis can effectively control pain, promote healing, reduce recurrence times, prolong the onset time and relieve patients' pain with time, and achieve good clinical effect.
