Abstract:Objective To determine the change of serum interleukin 11(IL-11)level between patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage(aSAH)and the normal population, and discuss the significance of this change. Methods A retrospective study was performed on 22 patients with aSAH who were admitted from December 2016 to February 2017.Patients were diagnosed to be aSAH detected by CT,digital subtraction angiography or CT angiography.Patients with aSAH were divded into the aSAH group,at the same time,10 healthy patients were in the normal group. Both aSAH group and normal groupwere measured IL-11 in serumby ELISA method. The 22 aSAH patients were sub-grouped according to the Glasgow coma scale(GCS),the Hunt-Hess grade, and the modified Fisher grade, respectively,to determine the levels of IL-11 in each group. The levels of the serum IL-11 in each group were compared, and the correlation between the expression and GCS scores,Fisher grade and Hunt-Hess gradewere investigated, and the relationship between the serum IL-11 level and the occurrence of cerebral vasospasm(CVS)was analyzed. Results The serum IL-11 level of aSAH patients was(68.58±14.07)pg/ml,while the normal group was(45.50±12.39)pg/ml,the serum level of IL-11 in the aSAH group was significantly higher than that in the normal group(P<0.05).Serum level of IL-11 were positively correlated with Fisher grade and Hunt-Hess grade of aSAH patients, and negatively correlated with GCS score.serum IL-11 levels in patients with CVS were significantly higher than those without CVS.Conclusion The serum IL-11 level is relevant to severity of aSAH,and it may influence the development of CVS.
