Abstract:Objective To investigate the efficacy and safety of BCG polysaccharide and nucleic acid(BCG-PSN) on verruca vulgaris. Methods Randomized controlled trials related to the treatment of verruca vulgaris with intramuscular injections of BCG-PSN were collect.Selecting articles and extracting information were conducted basing on the criteria of inclusion and exclusion. The quality of methodology of included studies were assessed. The software of RevMan 5.1 was used for statistic analysis. The effectiveness and safety of the treatment were evaluated. Results Seven studies were finally included in the systematic review with 719 cases. The results showed that BCG-PSN single or in combination with other treatments achieved better efficacy than the other treatments of verruca vulgaris(RR=1.39,95% CI 1.07-1.80,P<0.05).Conclusion The BCG-PSN can be used in the treatment of verruca vulgaris with minimal adverse effects.
