Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical effect of modified lateral position without traction technology in arthroscopic repair of recurrent anterior dislocation of shoulder. Methods A retrospective study was performed on 82 patients underwent arthroscopic labrum repair for anterior shoulder instability admitted from Jan 2014 to May 2016. The mean age was(25. 5 ± 6. 2)years(19-31 years old). Mean duration was(3. 5 ± 2. 9)years(1-8 years). Recurrent dislocation was(21. 2 ± 12. 5) times(4-48 times). All cases were performed modified lateral position without traction technology in arthroscopic repair. Rowes scores and UCLA scores were used for evaluation. Results All 82 patients were followed up and the follow-up peri-ods raged from 7 to 18 months,an average of (11. 4 ± 5. 6)months,including 3 cases with postoperative limited 20 °external rotation could not attend confrontational training and the others had no adverse effect. The average loss of shoulder joint ex-torsion activity angle was(7. 7° ± 3. 2°). Postoperative UCLA score(90. 0 ± 4. 1)was significantly higher than the preopera-tive score(23. 0 ± 4. 3)(P<0. 05),Rowes postoperative score(29. 1 ± 3. 1)was significantly higher than preoperative score (7. 8 ± 1. 9)(P<0. 05). Conclusion Curative effect of modified lateral position without traction technology in arthroscop-ic repair of recurrent anterior dislocation of shoulder is satisfactory and helpful to the popularization and application in basic-level hospitals.
