Abstract:Objective To explore the impact of modified femoral medullary cavity closure on anemia after total knee arthro -plasty reduced the amount of blood loss after total knee arthroplasty .Methods A retrospective study was performed on 125 cases of patients that received primary total knee arthroplasty in the General Hospital of Shenyang Military Command from January 2012 to December 2015.Patients were randomly divided into traditional closed group (n=56) and modified closed group(n=69).The postoperative volume of drainage and blood loss of patients were compared .Results In the modified closed group, the postoperative volume of drainage and blood loss were both less than those in the traditional closed group , the difference was statistically significant ( P<0.05 ) .Conclusion The improved method can reduce the amount of blood loss in patients with primary total knee arthroplasty .
