Analysis of the effect of basic medical insurance for cancer inpatient in Shenyang

Abstract：Objective To explore the analysis of cancer inpatient hospital costs under different methods of payment and in-fluencing factor to formulate perfecting medical insurance payment policy as reference. Methods Collect and statistic anal-ysis relevant information such as length of hospital stay,hospitalization cost and self-pay cost for our hospital in Shenyang since 2004 to 2013. Results The number of cancer inpatients of different payment types both present rising trend,the med-ical insurance ratio of inpatients was increased rapidly. However, medicare population were still less than those with ex-pense,length of hospital stay became shorter while the gap got narrow,an uptrend could be observed of hospitalized expense and the difference was remarkable,the hospitalization cost of medical insurance inpatient was increasing and closely related with control policy. Conclusion Along with normalization of cancer therapy,the influence of different methods of payment on treatment protocols is gradually getting weak,medical insurance payment policy has impact on controlling hospitalization cost,lightening financial burden of cancer patient,as well as allocating medical resources in a reasonable way. Therefore,it is becoming an important defray pattern of hospitalization cost.
