Treatment of Posterior Circulation Stroke in Neurological Intensive Care Unit

Abstract:Posterior circulation stroke(PCS)is associated with high mortality and poor outcome.Acive rescue under Neuro-logical intensive care unit (NICU)condition provide more effective curative effect.We described how to improve the out-come of PCS patients through multiply aspects in NICU,including early diagnosis,as much as quick recanalization by intra-venous thrombolysis (IVT)or intraarterial thrombolysis (IAT)and/or mechanical endovascular treatment through the green channel of stroke,neurological function monitoring and the nutrition support,respiratory support etc.We minimized the disa-bility and mortality rate of the PCS patients through the comprehensive treatments mentioned above .It demonstrated the ad-vantage and necessity to rescue patients with PCS in NICU as soon as possible.
