Abstract:Snakebite envenomation(SBE)represents a prevalent and potentially fatal clinical emergency, frequently accompanied by both localized and systemic complications, including coagulopathy, compartment syn-drome,renal failure, and neurological damage. In severe instances,multi-organ failure may ensue, posing a signifi-cant threat to patient survival.Though timely administration of antivenom has proven effective in preventing SBE-re-lated complications, its utilization is constrained by the issues of accessibility, affordability, and species specificity.Furthermore, the inadequate early recognition of complications and insufficient follow-up treatment in clinical settings have contributed to the persistent occurrence of long-term sequelae following SBE incidents. This comprehensive re-view aims to delineate recent progress in the study of SBE-associated complications, including their pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, diagnostic and therapeutic strategies, and rehabilitation approaches, with the ultimate objec-tive of enhancing clinical management, diagnostic and treatment approaches, and rehabilitation strategies for SBE complications.
