Abstract:Traumatic brain injury(TBI)is one of the leading causes of disability and death worldwide,pla-cing a heavy burden on families and society.Exploring the pathophysiological mechanism of secondary brain injury after TBI is very important to improve the treatment and prognosis, and establishing a better animal model of TBI will help researchers further explore the pathophysiology of TBI.Rodents are widely used in TBI models because of their small size and low cost.In this review,we describe the relevant studies on common TBI rodent models of weight drop injury, controlled cortical impact injury,blast-mediated traumatic brain injury, and fluid percussion injury,in order to select relevant animal models more pertinently.
