Abstract:Open globe injury(OGI)is a major cause of vision loss worldwide. In disaster or battlefield en-vironments,the incidence of OGI is high, characterized by complex conditions, difficulties in treatment, and poor prognosis.Currently, due to varying levels of treatment capacity for OGI across military and civilian medical institu-tions at different levels, issues persist including improper battlefield management, incomplete injury assessment, and non-standardized evacuation and treatment procedures. There is a lack of relevant treatment guidelines and consen-sus.In response, the Army Ophthalmology Specialty Alliance and the Editorial Board of the Journal of Traumatic Surgery have organized experts to develop the Expert Consensus on Early Management of OGI,with the aim of impro-ving the level of OGI care in basic medical units within and outside the military.
