Abstract:The abnormal gait formation in patients with chronic ankle instability(CAI)is primarily related to the weakened strength and control ability of the muscles surrounding the ankle joint.Surface electromyography(sEMG)can objectively and quantitatively reflect the activity status of muscles and has significant application value in gait analysis for CAI patients. This manuscript explores the application of sEMG in gait analysis for CAI patients, from the aspects of sEMG characteristics of relevant muscles, abnormal gait manifestations, and gait analysis based on sEMG.In particular, the authors focus on the research progress of sEMG in analyzing abnormal gait in CAI patients, emphasizing the application of sEMG in studying the activity characteristics of muscles related to abnormal gaits and abnormal gait patterns.
