To promote the specialization of trauma centers in China with the"trauma+X"entity-based mode

Abstract：Currently,nearly 3000 trauma centers in China are confronted with the issues of lagging entity construction,insufficient standardization,and lack of standardized operating mechanisms.To address these challen-ges,this paper proposes the"trauma+X"model,which,based on trauma rescue,extends the medical service scope of trauma centers to other related diseases like surgical critical illness,acute general surgery,etc.(named as"X"),to ensure them a stable patient resource and technological continuity.Operated under this mode,a trauma center can carry out in-depth clinical practice and research focusing on skilled fields,which brings specialized effects.In the near future,with the further development of pre-hospital triage and inter-hospital referral systems,more trauma cen-ters may implement the"trauma+X"mode to promote sustainable development of trauma medicine in China.
