Abstract:Severe trauma refers to extensive damage to tissues and organs caused by external forces, which significantly increases the risk of multi-organ dysfunction and cellular energy metabolism disturbances.Following trauma, mitochondrial dysfunction, calcium homeostasis disruption, and elevated oxidative stress are core mechanisms driving the metabolic imbalance in cells, severely affecting prognosis of patients. In recent years, research has in-creasingly focused on elucidating these mechanisms and their impact on post-traumatic metabolic disturbances. This article systematically reviews the mechanisms underlying cellular energy metabolism disturbances induced by severe trauma and proposes potential therapeutic approaches based on mitochondrial function restoration and antioxidant strategies, aiming to provide a theoretical foundation and practical guidance for clinical interventions in trauma care.
