Abstract:Cerebral edema(CE)and the resulting high intracranial pressure after traumatic brain injury(TBI)are known to have a negative impact on the prognosis.Currently, the assessment methods of CE rely heavily on subjective CT-based scoring, which has demonstrated a strong correlation with TBI prognosis. However, the short-comings of complex operation, subjectivity, and unsatisfied feasibility limit its application. The utilization of AI in the diagnostic imaging assessment of traumatic cerebral edema(TCE)is still in its early stages but holds promising po-tential.In this study,we first review the current imaging-based assessment methods for TCE and then focus on sum-marizing the application of AI technology in TCE imaging assessment, thereby providing a novel perspective for prac-titioners in related fields. We aim to provide a reference and theoretical foundation for the assessment and clinical treatment of TCE.
