Abstract:Objective To assess the cognition and attitude of trauma nurses towards proactive nursing measures for post-traumatic delirium(PTD),and to provide reference for following training strategies. Methods Based on the principle of evidence, literature retraction until Apr.30,2024 was conducted at the websites or data-bases of BMJ Best Practice,UpToDate,WHO,National Institute for Health and Care Excellence(UK),Guidelines International Network,Cochrane Library,PubMed,Embase,CNKI,Wanfang Database,China Biology Medicine disc,VIP Database, and Yimaitong,to formulate a scope review and develop a list of proactive nursing evidence for PTD.A stratified purposive sample method was used to survey trauma nurses in the emergency departments and ICUs of 6 tertiary hospitals in China, from Mar.24 to Apr.30,2024,using the self-made evidence-based questionnaire. The survey included basic information, and their scoring from importance(representing cognition)and feasibility(repre-senting attitude)of evidence-based proactive nursing measures for PTD.Results A total of 15 articles were in-cluded,and 52 proactive nursing measures were compiled from 8 aspects, including pain management, safety manage-ment,social support, early activities, environmental optimization, basic nursing, sleep management, and cognitive training.A total of 210 questionnaires were distributed, yielding 208 valid responses, resulting in a collection rate of 99.0%.Trauma nurses reported the lowest importance perception and feasibility for aromatherapy, with the scores being 3.8±1.1 and 3.6±1.2,respectively.For other measures, the mean importance perception score was 4.4±0.9 and the mean feasibility score was 4.2±1.0.There was a positive correlation between trauma nurses'perceptions and feasibility of PTD proactive nursing measures, with the Pearson correlation score reaching as high as 0.92(P<0.001),and the correlation coefficients between each measure ranged from 0.53 to 0.79(P<0.001).Conclusion The evidence-based proactive nursing measures summarized in this study are scientifically reliable and comprehen-sively detailed.Trauma caregivers who participated in the survey generally had a high level of awareness of PTD proactive nursing measures, though some measures can be more recognized. There is a positive correlation between their cognition and attitude, suggesting that nursing managers can develop targeted training strategies based on cogni-tive behavior theory.
