Disease burden and key issues in clinical management of traumatic abdominal and/or pelvic hemorrhage
Dai Ruiwu
Abstract:Significant progress has been made in the management of traumatic abdominal and/or pelvic hemorrhage(TAPH),but several controversies and deficiencies still exist in clinical practice.Based on the latest results from the Global Burden of Disease(GBD)database and clinical experience, the author analyzes the epidemi-ology and disease burden of TAPH,and discusses four key issues in the management of TAPH,i.e.,establishing rescue strategies based on the"SMART"principle, keeping eyes on TAPH patients with comorbidities, selecting suitable surgeries for TAPH patients, and carrying out doing more studies on the follow-up and long-term prognosis for TAPH patients.Through continuous clinical practice and technological advancements,it is hoped that the surviv-al rates of TAPH patients be further improved in the future.
