Abstract:Objective To study influence of proximal femoral nail anti-rotation(PFNA)on NGF,IL-6 level and Harris,VAS score in elderly patients with intertrochanteric fracture. Methods From Jan.2016 to Sep.2017, 80 senile patients with femoral intertrochanteric fractures were treated in Department of Orthopedics of Shanghai Renhe Hospital.According to the different treatment methods, they were divided into observation group(50 cases) and control group(30 cases).Patients in the observation group were treated with anti-rotation nails, while patients in the control group were treated non-operatively.The healing time, hospitalization time and medical expenses of the two groups were compared, and the changes of NGF and IL-6 levels and Harris,VAS scores before and after treat-ment were compared. Results The fracture healing time, length of stay, and medical expenses in the observation group were(14.2 ±2.3)weeks,(20.4 ±3.5)days,(21 ±5)thousand yuan, which were significantly less than those in the control group((22.4 ±3.1)weeks,(29.3 ±3.8)d,(33 ±7)thousand yuan),and the differences were statistically significant between the two groups(P<0.05).After treatment, serum NGF levels of the observation group and the control group were(957.4 ±112.5)and(762.9 ±87.5),respectively,which were significantly high-er than before treatment, and the observation group was significantly higher than the control group. The difference was statistically significant between the two groups(P<0.05).Serum IL-6 levels were not significantly different be-tween the two groups before and after treatment(P>0.05).After treatment, the Harris score of the observation group was(83.5 ±10.4)points,which was significantly higher than that of the control group(70.8 ±8.7)points, while the VAS score was(3.1 ±0.5)points,which was significantly lower than that of the control group((4.0 ± 0.7)points).There was a statistically significant difference between groups(P<0.05).Conclusion Proximal femoral nail fixation for the treatment of intertrochanteric femoral fractures in the elderly is beneficial to promote ear -ly recovery and reduce medical burden, and also can increase NGF levels, promote hip function recovery, and effec-tively relieve pain.It is worthy of clinical application.
