Abstract:Objective To investigate the early effect of anatomical radial head prosthesis replacement in the treatment of comminuted radial head fractures. Methods From Oct.2015 to Aug.2017,11 patients with com-minuted radial head fractures were treated with Acumed anatomical radial head prosthesis replacement. There were 7 males and 4 females, aged 24-58 years, with an average age of 37.3 years, with left in 4 cases and right in 7 cases. According to Mason classification,8 cases were type III,3 cases were type IV(all were terrible triad).Hinged ex-ternal fixation was used in 3 cases of elbow terrible triad. Results All the 11 patients were followed up for 3-23 months, with an average of 14.2 months, the mean flexion and extension range of elbow was(110 ±15.2)°,forearm average pronation was(66.4 ±10.9)°,and the average rotation was(83.2 ±11.3)°.According to the Mayo el-bow performance score,7 cases were excellent and 4 cases were good. Conclusion Anatomical radial head pros-thesis replacement can achieve satisfactory early results in the treatment of comminuted radial head fractures.
