Efficacy of multi-drug combined with PFNA in treating osteoporotic intertrochanteric fractures and its effect on bone mineral density

Abstract：Objective To analyze the efficacy of multi-drug combined with PFNA in treating osteoporotic intertrochanteric fractures and its effect on bone mineral density .Methods One-hundred cases of osteoporotic in-tertrochanteric fractures treated in our hospital from Jul .2012 to Oct.2015 were randomly divided into treatment group and control group,with 50 cases in each group.The treatment group was treated with calcium carbonate D 3 tablets,al-facalcidol,salmon calcitonin combined with PFNA ,and the control group was treated with calcium carbonate D 3 and PFNA.The functional recovery of the hip joint ,Harris hip function score,mean hip bone density T value and bone density were compared between the two groups .Results The excellent and good rate of hip function in the treatment group (90.00％) was significantly higher than that in the control group (70.00％),and the difference was statistical-ly significant (P<0.05).At 6 months and 1 year after operation,the Harris hip function score was higher in both groups than that at 3 weeks,and the mean bone mineral density ( T) was higher than that before operation ,and the Harris hip function score in the treatment group were 88.18 ±10.06,91.96 ±10.28,respectively at 6 months and 1 year after treatment,which were higher than those in the control group (75.27 ±9.24,83.24 ±10.31).The mean bone mineral density (T) in the contralateral hips in the treatment group were -1.86 ±0.28,-1.41 ±0.20,respec-tively at 6 months and 1 year after treatment ,which were significantly higher than those in the control group (-2.54 ±0.13,-2.51 ±0.15),and the differences were statistically significant (P <0.05).The bone mineral density (BMD) of femoral neck,Word triangle and femoral trochanter in the treatment group (0.98 ±0.08 g/cm2,0.87 ± 0.04 g/cm2 ,0.88 ±0.02 g/cm2 ) were significantly higher than those in the control group (0.80 ±0.05 g/cm2 ,0.66 ± 0.03 g/cm2,0.67 ±0.05 g/cm2),and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Multi-drug combined with PFNA in treating osteoporotic intertrochanteric fractures can achieve satisfactory effect ,can effectively im-prove the patients'hip bone and joint function,accelerate bone healing,and is worthy of clinical application.
