Abstract:Objective To compare the clinical efficacy of proximal femoral nail antirotation ( PFNA) and proximal femoral locking plate ( PFLP) in the treatment of stable intertrochanteric fracture ( Evans typeⅠgroup1 and type Ⅰgroup2).Methods Thirty-six patients with stable intertrochanteric fracture in our hospital from Dec .2014 to Jan.2017 were divided into PFNA group(n=15) and PFLP group(n=21) according to different operation meth-ods.The operating time, blood loss, recovery time and hip function after the operation were recorded and compared . Results All the 36 patents were followed up for 3 to 18 months. The average operating time and hospital stay had no statistical difference between the two groups (P>0.05).The bone union had been achieved in both groups .But the average time of bone union and weight-bearing was shorter in PFNA group than that in PFLP group ,which had statistical differences ( P<0.01) .Also, the amount of intraoperative blood loss was much more in PFLP group than that in PFNA group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01).The excellent rate of hip function af-ter operation reached above 70%in both groups, which had no statistical difference (P>0.05).No severe compli-cation was observed in either group .Conclusion PFNA and PFLP are excellent internal fixations for stable inter-trochanteric fracture .Because of less blood loss and faster postoperative recovery during operation , PFNA is more suitable for stable intertrochanteric fractures .
