Abstract:Objective To discuss the clinical effect of bridging combined fixation system for the treatment of comminuted femoral condylar fracture. Methods Retrospective analysis was carried out on 10 cases of femoral intercondylar fracture from May 2014 to Sep.2016.They were treated by bridging combined with fixation system. There were 7 males and 3 females aged 19-60 years (average, 45 years).Cause of injury included 6 cases of road traffic injuries and 4 cases of high falling.According to AO classification, 6 cases were 33C2 and 4 cases were 33C3.The time of operation, the amount of bleeding and the recovery of function of the affected limb were evaluated. Results Ten patients were followed up for 12-30 months (mean, 19).The operation time ranged from 1 to 2 h (average 1.6h), the amount of bleeding was 200-400mL (average, 250mL).During the follow-up period, the surgical incision healed well, without internal fixation loosening, breakage or other complications.According to Sanders limbs evaluation after operation, there were excellent in 7 cases, good in 2 cases, and fair in 1 case, and the excellent and good rate was 90%. Conclusion The use of bridging combined with fixation system in the treatment of comminuted femoral intercondylar fracture conforms the principle of biological fixation with simple operation and satisfactory clinical effect. It is a new effective internal fixation device for the treatment of femoral intercondylar comminuted fracture.
