Abstract:Objective To compare the clinical application of guide pin locating device with free-hand technique during guide pin inserting in PFNAⅡ.Methods A retrospective study of 65 intertrochanteric fractures treated with PFNAⅡin Dongguan Eighth People's Hospital between Sep.2014 and May 2016 was performed.Totally 65 cases enrolled were assigned to experiment group (32 cases) and routine group (33 cases). When inserting the guide pin for PFNAⅡ,cases in the experiment group were operated with guide pin locating device;the patients in the routine group were treated with the conventional free-hand technique. The length of time during inserting the guide pin precisely, frequency of the X-ray fluoroscopy exposure of the two groups were noted and compared. Results In the experiment group, the length of time during inserting the guide pin precisely was (8.1±1.7)min,and the frequency of the X-ray fluoroscopy exposure was(5.5±1.2)times.In the routine group, the length of time during inserting the guide pin precisely was (10.6±2.4)min,and the frequency of the X-ray fluoroscopy exposure was(7.2±1.7)times,The length of time during inserting the guide pin precisely, and the frequency of the X-ray fluoroscopy exposure in the experiment group were significantly lower than those in the routine group (P1=0.01;P2=0.037).Conclusion Compare to the conventional free-hand technique, the guide pin locating device is better in PFNAⅡ.It can reduce the operation time and lessen fluoroscopy times, showing a satisfactory clinical outcome.
