Abstract:Objective To study the clinical value of short-segment pedicle screw fixation in the treatment of acute spinal trauma. Methods 80 cases of patients with acute spinal trauma who were admitted to trauma surgery of our hospital from May 2012 to May 2015 were randomly selected. All patients were given short-segment pedicle fixation treatment. Then their compression height of front edge of vertebral body before and after surgery, Cobb's angle, spinal nerve functional recovery were statistically analyzed, and their clinical efficacy were evaluated. Results The vertebral compression height of the front edge, vertebral compression height of the posterior edge, spinal occupancy, Cobb's angle after 30min, 1 month of the enrolled patients were significantly lower than the preoperative (P<0.05), but the differences of vertebral compression height of the front edge, vertebral compression height of the posterior edge, spinal occupancy, Cobb's angle between after 30min and 1 month were not significant (P>0.05).The proportion of Frankel grade A, B, C, D levels after 1 month was significantly lower (P<0.05), while the ratio of grade E was significantly higher than preoperative (P<0.05).Among the 80 cases, 37 cases were excellent, 35 cases were good, 6 cases were fair, 2 cases were poor, the excellent and good rate was 90.00% (72/80).Conclusion The clinical value of short-segment pedicle screw fixation in the treatment of acute spinal trauma is high, so is worthy of promotion.
