Abstract:Objective To compare the clinical efficacy of proximal femoral nail antirotation ( PFNA) in the treatment of obese patients with intertrochanteric fracture between lateral position and supine position .Methods A total of 35 cases of obese patients with intertrochanteric fracture were collected and divided into the supine position group (16 cases) and the lateral position group (19 cases) according to different operation positions .The length of incision, the blood loss during operation, the operation time, length of hospital stay, fracture healing time and postop-erative complications were analyzed and compared ,and the function of hip joint was evaluated according to the Harris score system. Results The length of incision ,the blood loss during operation and the operation time of the lateral position group were less than those of the supine position group ,and the difference was statistically significant ( P<0.05);there was no significant difference in the length of hospital stay ,postoperative complications ,fracture healing time and the Harris score of hip joint between the two groups (P>0.05).Conclusion In obese patients with in-tertrochanteric fracture ,PFNA in lateral position has more advantages than in supine position and is worthy of clini -cal promotion .
