Effect of vacuum sealing drainage technique on deepⅡ° burn wound healing in children

Abstract：Objective To investigate the effect of vacuum sealing drainage ( VSD) on the healing of deepⅡ°burn wound in children .Methods Clinical data of 75 cases of deep Ⅱ°burn patients was retrospectively ana-lyzed in our hospital from Jun .2010 to Aug.2014.According to the treatment method ,all cases were divided into the VSD treatment group(40 cases) and the control group(35 cases).The results of bacterial culture,the degree of pain,the rate of wound healing within 2 weeks,the degree of scar proliferation and the cost of treatment were com-pared between the two groups .Results The negative rate of bacterial culture in the treatment group was 2.50%, significantly higher than that in the control group (20.00%,P<0.05); the pain score in the treatment group was significantly lower than that in the control group (P<0.05);the healing rate within two weeks in the treatment group was 95.00%,significantly higher than that in the control group (77.14%,P<0.05);the wound healing time and scar proliferation in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05);the treat-ment cost of the treatment group was significantly higher compared with the control group (P<0.05).Conclusion VSD technology for the treatment of deep Ⅱ°burn wounds can shorten the wound healing time and reduce the pa-tient’s pain and scar hyperplasia .However,its medical expense increases correspondingly .
