Progress of research on the orientation of the acetabular component in total hip arthroplasty

Abstract：At present,total hip arthroplasty has become an effective method for the treatment of end-stage hip disease.Because of the special structure of the acetabulum,the methods for determining the position of the ace-tabular cup are disputed.The orientation methods of the acetabular components are mainly determined by the preop-erative and intraoperative imaging data,local anatomical characteristics of the acetabulum in combination with the mechanical equipment.This paper reviews the progress in research on orientating acetabular prosthesis position.
