Expression of the melanocortin 1receptor during wound healing

Abstract：Objective To explore whether melanocortin 1 receptor ( MC1R) expresses in wounded skin and its dynamic change in the wound healing process .Methods Skin wounds in rats were made and HE staining and immunohistochemical method were employed to observe the change of MC 1R expression sites in the wound heal-ing process 1,3,5,7,14,21 days later respectively .Results The study found that MC1R expressed in inflammato-ry cells around the wound and newly-generated basal cells in the wound healing process .And as the wound healing gradually migrated to the wound center , the expression quantity gradually increased .Conclusion In the process of wound healing,the expression characteristics of MC1R suggest that MC1R/α-MSH participates in wound healing and may regulate inflammatory response in the process of wound healing .
