Abstract:Objective To evaluate the biomechanical stability of three internal fixations in treatment of double column acetabular fracture ,including double column titanium plate (A),anterior special -shaping titanium plate plus quadrilateral screws ( B) ,and anterior special-shaping titanium plate plus quadrilateral screws and posteri-or column screws ( C).Methods Double column acetabular fracture models were built by using finite element modelling software ,then loading analysis was applied .Results In the acetabulum ,during the sitting and standing position, the maximum force, the maximum displacement and the mean node displacement on the fracture line of these three internal fixations showed A >B>C under the same loading method .However, the node displacement on the fracture line during sitting position showed statistically significant differences between A and B ,C internal fixa-tions(P<0.05).No statistically significant difference was found between B and C (P>0.05).There was also no statistical significance in standing position among these three groups (P>0.05).Conclusion The technique of u-sing anterior special-shaping titanium plate plus quadrilateral screws and posterior column screws has good biome -chanical stabilities for the treatment of double column acetabular fracture .
