Abstract:Objective To discuss the clinical effects of applying free flap from the superficial palmar branch of the radial artery and bridging digital artery in treating finger skin defect and arterial rupture .Methods Eighteen cases of finger skin defect with blood flow obstacle were treated by using free flap from the superficial pal -mar branch of the radial artery and bridging digital artery from Jan .2012 to Nov.2013.The defect area ranged from 1cm ×2cm to 1.5cm ×2.5cm.Six patients with palmar nerve defects were treated by implantation of the palmar cutaneous branch of the median nerve and directly sutured at the donor sites of wrist .Results All flaps survived in the 18 cases.Postoperative follow-up indicated good texture ,satisfactory appearance and function .No further plas-tic operation was required .Conclusion Applying free flap from the superficial palmar branch of the radial artery and bridging digital artery is a good method for treating patients with finger skin defect and arterial rupture .
