Abstract:Objective A fresh cadaveric biomechanical testing is conducted with a new minimally invasive dynamic hip plate (MIDHP),which is used in the treatment of unstable intertrochanteric fractures ,aiming to verify the biomechanical stability and to provide a biomechanical and theoretical basis for the clinical application of the de -vice.Methods Compression test, torsion test and destruction test were conducted between the new minimally inva-sive dynamic hip plate group and the proximal femoral nail group .The load-displacement curve, torque-twisting an-gle curve, maximum load, calculated compressive stiffness and torsional stiffness were recorded .Statistical analysis was performed. Results The load-displacement curve and torque-twisting angle curve were similar between the two sets of experiment. No significant difference was observed in the compressive stiffness and torsional stiffness .The average maximum load of MIDHP group was (3069.80 ±211.27) N,while that of the PFN group was 3632.87 ± 164.17N,with a significant difference. Conclusion MIDHP has good resistance to axial compression , torsion and other biomechanical performances while applying to the comminuted intertrochanteric fracture ,and it also complies with the principles of rigid fixation and is worthy of promotion .
