Abstract:Objective To retrospectively analyze 148 hip replacements with different types of prosthesis ac-cording to the factors of distinguished type and body constitution of femoral intertrochanteric fracture in aged pa -tients.Methods There were 148 elderly patients with intertrochanteric fractures admitted into our hospital from Feb.2001 to Feb.2010.According to the fracture type and body constitution ,hip joint replacement was performed with types of different prosthesis . Patients'postoperative function was evaluated according to the Harris scoring standard. Results The group consisted of 148 patients and 152 joints.Among them 103 cases were followed up for 6 to 108 months, with an average of 48 months.Total hip replacement was performed in 6 cases,in which the bi-ological type in 2 cases and bone cement type in 4 cases and the acetabulum were all biologically fixed .Long stem bipolar head hip replacement was used in 17 cases, the rest were conventional bipolar head hip replacement .Ac-cording to the Harris standard , there was excellent in 38 cases, good in 55 cases, fair in 9 cases, and poor in 1 case, with an excellent and good rate of 90.3%.Conclusion Different types of prosthesis should be applied for hip joint replacement based on the patient's age, fracture type, bone and body condition . This can ensure patients early weight-bearing,recover their walking function, reduce the incidence of complications ,improve the quality of life, and reduce the burden of family life and nursing .
