Clinical care of pancreas and duodenum injuries in 98 cases

Abstract：Objective To summarize the diagnosis and treatment of pancreas and duodenum injuries . Methods Clinical data of 98 patients with pancreas and duodenum injuries between 1996 and 2012 were analyzed retrospectively.Results Definitive diagnosis was made in 85 cases preoperatively ,13 cases intra-operatively.All patients received surgical treatment .A total of 88 cases(89.8%) were cured,5 cases(5.10%) died due to severe injury of skull and brain ,pulmonary infection ,infectious shock ,MODS,and hemorrhagic shock .Conclusion Diag-nosis of pancreas and duodenum injuries is mainly based on clinical manifestations .But X-ray,B ultrasound,MR examination can provide important information for its exact diagnosis .Early diagnosis ,timely and appropriate opera-tion are critical to improve the therapeutic effectiveness .
