Abstract:Mg++,the important intracellular catholyt e in human body, taking a part in the metabolism of sugar, fat, and protein, plays an important role in metabolism and regulation of the brain.Abnormal free Mg ++may lead to pathological change of energy metabolism, permeability of the mem branion and lipid metabolism.Brain injury may be accompanied with the loss of M g++,and deficiency of Mg++ may induce brain edema or worse one.Re asonable raising Mg++in vivo may reduce secondary brain injury to some ext ent.
