Abstract:The common antiretroviral drugs targeting different stages of the human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)lifecycle have made great progress in clinical treatment of HIV infection. However, due to the long-term incubation of the virus library and its persistent presence in a few infected cells,it cannot be completely eliminated through antiretroviral therapy(ART);There are also some drug-resistant mutations and adverse drug reactions in the treatment process, while the cure research and vaccine development of AIDS are still in the experimental stage. Therefore,in the absence of protective vaccines and enhanced efficient antiretroviral therapy that cannot eradicate the virus, eradicating latent reservoirs is currently an urgent need for the treatment of HIV infection. This review mainly discussed HIV antiviral targets and strategies for eradicating latent virus pools from three aspects:drug targets and mechanisms of HIV,factors affecting ART treatment efficacy, and eradication strategies for latent virus pools. The aim was to providere fer ence for further searching for new drug action modes and targets.
