Abstract:Tuberculosis, caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis,is a chronic infectious disease that seriously endangers human health.Despite certain progress in tuberculosis prevention and control, its incidence and mortality rates remain high worldwide. In recent years,an increasing number of studies have shown that epigenetic modifications play a significant role in the pathogenesis of tuberculosis. This article reviews the effects of epigenetic modifications such as DNA methylation, histone modification, and non-coding RNA regulation on host immune response, latent infection and activation of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, and drug resistance during host cell infection by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, aims to provide a theoretical basis for a deeper understanding of the pathogenesis of tuberculosis and the development of new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.
