Abstract:Acinetobacter baumannii (AB) is a non fermenting gram-negative opportunistic pathogen that is a common pathogen in hospitals. It has multiple mechanisms that work together to survive in the environment and host body. With the increasing resistance of Acinetobacter baumannii, multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii infection has become a major challenge in global clinical antibacterial treatment. Two component regulatory system (TCS) play a crucial role in the perception and adaptation of AB to the environment, enabling them to spread widely and survive in constantly changing environments. TCS is composed of histidine kinases and regulatory protein. The biofilm maturation sensor is a histidine kinase in AB, and the biofilm maturation regulator serves as a regulatory protein corresponding to the histidine kinase. The 2 together constitute BfmS/BfmR TCS. This article reviews the involvement of BfmS/BfmR TCS in regulating AB stress response and drug resistance through various mechanisms.
