Abstract:Objective To analyze the test results of bacillary dysentery in 3 sentinel hospitals in Heilongjiang Province from 2010 to 2015, understand the main distribution characteristics of bacillary dysentery in Heilongjiang Province, the serotype and drug resistance of Shigella, and provide laboratory reference for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of this kind of infectious diseases. Methods The pathogen detection was performed in the laboratory according to the National Bacterial Dysentery Monitoring Program. The case questionnaires were collected to summarize the epidemiological characteristics of bacterial dysentery, the serotype and drug resistance of pathogens. Results A total of 32 strains of Shigella were isolated within 6 years (during 2010-2015), including 21 strains of Shigella flexneri and 11 strains of Shigella sonnei. Pathogens were sensitive to ciprofloxacin and gentamicin and were resistant to tetracycline and compound sulfamethoxazole. Conclusions The bacterial dysentery is prevalent at locations (Daoli District of Harbin City, and Jiamusi City) of 3 sentinel hospitals of Heilongjiang Province from June to September, with general susceptibility of the population. The main serotypes of pathogens are Shigella flexneri and Shigella sonnei; and pathogens have certain drug resistance.
