Current epidemiology and progress in prevention-treatment of Nipah virus disease

Abstract：Nipah virus disease is an acute, fatal and contagious zoonosis. Clinical manifestations include the fever, headache, encephalitis and cough. It was firstly discovered in Malaysia and Singapore in 1998, and its pathogen was isolated and identified to be Nipah virus in 1999. Afterwards, Nipah virus disease continuously outbreaks in Bangladesh and India. And the third outbreak occurs in India in May, 2018, which causes great panic. This study focuses on current epidemiology and progress in prevention-treatment of Nipah virus disease, and intrduced the research progress from the etiology, epidemiology, clinical symptoms, pathological change, laboratory diagnosis, prevention and treatment.
