A comparative analysis of outpatient and inpatient indexes in infectious disease hospital before and after medical reform

Abstract:Objective To analyze and discuss the effect of the implementation of medical reform and the construction and development trend of infectious disease hospital. Methods Based on a comparative analysis of the outpatient and inpatient indexes in a infectious disease hospital since 2013, the changes of various medical index data in previous years and after reform were observed. Results After medical reform was implemented in the infectious disease hospital, medical index data including total outpatient visits, associate chief physician outpatient visits, chief physician outpatient visits, well-known experts outpatient visits and medicine expense per hospitalized case showed a negative growth for the first time; the growth of general outpatient visits and inpatients was slow, and medicine expense per outpatient services decreased significantly. Conclusions "Separation of Prescribing and Dispensing" comprehensive reform promotes the grading diagnosis and treatment, reduces the medicine expenses per outpatient service and hospitalized case, and accelerates the transformation and development of infectious diseases hospitals.
