Abstract：Objective The present study aimed to evaluate the effects of teaching practice in outpatient blood drawing room of infectious disease hospital by using model training system. Methods A total of 89 practice nurses in outpatient blood drawing room from July 2015 to March 2016 were included in this study and randomly divided into 2 groups, namely observation group (n=44) receiving simulation teaching with models and control group (n=45) receiving traditional teaching methods. Teaching satisfaction score and skills of venous puncture operation of practice nurses in 2 groups were evaluated at the end of internship. Results Compared with the control group, teaching satisfaction score and skills of venous puncture operation of practice nurses in the observation group were significantly increased (P<0.001). Conclusions The teaching practice of nurses in outpatient blood drawing room of infectious disease hospital by using the model training system could improve the teaching satisfaction and the skills of venous puncture operation in practice nurses.
