Abstract:Objective To investigate the seroprevalence of measles in new recruits of a company, and provide evidence for formulating the immunization strategy. Methods Measles IgG antibody levels were measured by ELISA among new recruited staff from a company in Nanjing. Results A total of 546 people aged 17-24 years were sampled and the positive rate of measles antibody was 98.4%. The geometric mean titer of antibody (GMT) were 1662 mIU/ml. No statistical significance was found in the positive rate and GMT between different age groups (P > 0.05). The positive rate and GMT in the population with measles immunization history were higher than that in the population with no immunization or unknown history (P<0.05). There was no statistical difference in the positive rate among population in different regions and among population with or without the history of measles (P>0.05). Conclusions The seroprevalence of measles antibody in the new recruits is relatively high, which basically forms the immune barrier against measles.
