Abstract:Objective To evaluate the short-time effect of cerebrospinal fluid replacement with intrathecal injection for AIDS with tuberculous meningitis. Methods The involved patients were equally divided into conventional therapy group and combined treatment group. Each group contained 30 cases. Conventional treatment included isoniazid, rifampicin, pyrazinamide, ethambutol and other anti-tuberculosis medication, while the combined treatment group was treated with cerebrospinal fluid replacement and intrathecal injection of isoniazid and dexamethasone on the basis of routine anti-tuberculosis treatment. Clinical symptoms and changes of cerebrospinal fluid in 2 groups were recorded for 2 months, and the treatment effect was compared. Results The overall efficacy rate of combined treatment group was obviously superior to conventional treatment group (P<0.05). Conclusions The cerebrospinal fluid replacement with intrathecal injection is a safe and effective treatment of AIDS with tuberculous meningitis.
