Advance on the correlation between oral bacteria and gastrointestinal cancer

Abstract:The oral cavity is one of body site that contains the highest density and most kinds of microorganisms in the body. There has been a research boom of association between oral microorganisms and cancers since Helicobacter Pylori is recognized as a definite cause of gastric cancer. In this paper, we review the interrelation of gastrointestinal cancer and oral bacteria through the interpretation of how gastrointestinal cancer affects oral bacterial component and how oral bacteria influence the development of gastrointestinal cancer. It can provide new ideas for early detection, early prevention and clinical intervention of gastrointestinal cancer.
