Recent research on the relationship between the intestinal microorganisms and the occurrence and development of colorectal cancer

Abstract:In recent years, more and more attention has been paid to the effect of intestinal microorganisms on colorectal cancer. Increasing studies also show that the intestinal microbiota plays an important role in the occurrence and development of colorectal cancer. The probiotics and prebiotics, regulating intestinal microorganisms, play an important role in the prevention and treatment of colorectal cancer. This review elaborates the relationship of gut microbiota and the development of colorectal cancer as well as the mechanisms of probiotics involved in suppression of colorectal cancer, so as to provide some reference for research on the development, prevention and treatment of this disease.
